This review acts as a sort of blind reaction to my first time listening to this album. ACDC’s album, Back in Black is one of their most successful albums released and as someone who doesn’t listen to much rock, I felt it would be a interesting choice to make for a first reaction to it.
Hell's Bells
This review acts as a sort of blind reaction to my first time listening to this album. ACDC’s album, Back in Black is one of their most successful albums released and as someone who doesn’t listen to much rock, I felt it would be a interesting choice to make for a first reaction to it.
Shoot To Thrill
Shoot to Thrill capitalizes off the great intro that was Hell’s bells and keeps the album starting off strong. It’s certainly a hype train that doesn’t slow down until 3 minutes around where the sparse melody accompanied by the heavy percussion help to highlight the upcoming final sprint of the song, an explosion of excitement.
What Do You Do For Money Honey
I’ll be at honest at this point of the album, the momentum of the songs is starting to feel somewhat stale but “What Do You Do for Money Honey” manages keep things fresh with its addicting and satisfying “Honey, what do you do for money?” chant. Around the 2 minute mark, the song drops most of the instrumental leaving mainly the vocals and percussion to focus on, this sequence is similar to the one in “Shoot to Thrill” and is just as hype to listen to.
Givin The Dog A Bone
In context of the album, this song doesn’t seem to being anything new to the table. It feels repetitive without any unique elements to help it stand out. Compared to “Shoot to Thrill” and “What Do you do for Money Honey” this certainly feels like a low point in the album for me. By itself I feel it could be seen in a better light but when put into comparison with the songs so far, “Givin the Dog a Bone” doesn’t get get a high score from me.
Let Me Put My Love Into You
This song certainly slows down the pace and feels new after listening to the last three songs
Back in Black. The guitar melodies in this song are satisfying to listen to and the guitar solos just amplify that feeling for me. Overall its a great jumpstart for the album and helps to keep things fresh.
Back In Black
Hearing that iconic melody, I couldn’t stop listening to this piece without a smile on my face. The vocals and melody are just too iconic and gratifying to hear. What else is there to say? Its clear why this song shares the same name as the album.
You Shook Me All Night Long
Keeping up with the theme of mixing things up, “You shook me all night long” is a very different tone to the other songs in this album. It what I can only describe as a “hopeful” melody to the song. It’s very upbeat and the chorus is so fun to listen to. A personal favorite for me to be honest.
Shake a Leg
As we’re nearing the end of the album. “Shake a Leg” continues to upkeep the amazing quality of the album so far. Its even more upbeat than “You shook me all night long” and is certainly a jam you can dance to, much as the name implies.
Rock and Roll Aint Noise Pollution
This song certainly fits it’s role as the last song of the album. It feels like the last step of a journey with one last celebration before it ends. It a feeling of victory that helped come to be with the astounding quality of the songs before it. Truly a fantastic final cheer from the album.
